Commodity Gears/ Hot Forging/ Electrical Motors Commodity Leader

MISSION

Coordinates the commodity buyers to support targets in terms of competitiveness, time to market, new project development and Supply Base growth and rationalization. Support Purchasing Manager and Group Strategic Sourcing in the Commodity Strategy definition and execution. 

 

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

 

Commodity Management

  • Manage the purchase of a specific commodity of materials, defines the general management and sourcing strategies for her/his specific commodity
  • Responsible for the definition and monitoring of the assigned global procurement strategy and policy with the local organizations business plan
  • Manages the assigned Commodity gaining deep understanding of the supply market; foster innovation input from suppliers and promote it into the organization
  • Responsible for the negotiation process with Global/Strategic suppliers
  • Develops and manages key strategic supplier partnership
  • Drives the Global sourcing activities managing and developing the relationships with global suppliers
  • Gives guidance to a multi-functional team of sourcing specialists globally (e.g. supplier quality and local procurement specialist).
  • Ensures that all the Procurement related risks are controlled and mitigated.
  • Responsible for the Supply base optimization in terms of quality, efficiency and technology state of the art
  • Negotiate contracts and Supply agreements

 

Budgeting

  • Responsible for her/his Global commodity budget, building and monitor the implementation of purchasing strategies

 

Supplier Price Management

  • Supervise the price of materials and components in order to define back-up plan to cover potential cost increase

 

People Management

  • Coordinates the commodity team on a global level being able to communicate the Headquarted Vision and best practice in adherence with the Local specific targets
  • Coaches, develops and motivates the commodity team
  • She/he is able to identify process/organization optimization and to drive the team and  the stakeholder (internal and external) through the continuous improvement.
