Customer Application Engineer

Mission

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring technical support to the Sales function in both technical pre-sales and post-sales activities. This includes evaluating and selecting the best technical solutions that meet customer needs, managing the entire life cycle of customized drive solutions, from design to testing, and providing post-sales customer technical services related to repair activities.

Main Responsibilities

 

Product Development Strategy

  • Contributes to the development of the local business by analyzing market needs and identifying the most suitable technical solutions to meet customer requirements, in line with the guidelines, processes, and procedures established by HQ.

 

Pre-sales technical support

  • Provides technical support to Sales during the pre-order phase by analyzing customer needs and proposing suitable product configurations in line with group strategies.
  • Collaborates with Sales to present technical solutions, prepare demos and prototypes, and collect requirements.
  • Participates in customer visits to define application needs and, for customized solutions, conducts initial application analysis to assess project complexity (Tier 1, 2, or 3) in line with R&D procedures.

 

Application Analysis & Commercial Offer

  • Manages application analysis and defines optimal product configurations based on customer needs, selecting from catalogue products, assessing required customizations, and defining pricing
  • Supports Sales in estimating project costs and preparing commercial offers.
  • Ensures proper management of client-driven projects, working closely with HQ (R&D, BU Project Office, Product Launch) on technical feasibility studies and contributing to product development.

 

Product/Solutions Development 

  • Collaborates with Global Sales Engineering and R&D Solutions Development on Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects for the development and implementation of ad hoc solutions, supporting both pre-sales activities (definition of product requirements and commercial offers) and post-sales activities (commissioning and training).

 

Post-sales technical Support

  • Supports the After Sales team in analyzing customer claims and brings non-conforming products and processes to the attention of the Operations function, in order to initiate corrective actions and contribute to the creation of best practices.
